Robotics Lab
Research roadmap
The phased plan that turns the lab's pillars into concrete, measurable progress.
Overview
A roadmap keeps long-horizon research honest. It states what we are working toward, how we will know we got there, and what comes next.
The roadmap is deliberately phased so each stage produces evidence that informs the next, rather than committing years to an untested bet.
What this covers
Phase 1 — Foundations
Perception, world models and safety monitoring validated in controlled settings.
Phase 2 — Collaboration
Human–machine authority transfer and shared context proven in semi-structured tasks.
Phase 3 — Embodied autonomy
Closed-loop autonomy under real-world uncertainty with assured safety envelopes.
Phase 4 — Responsible deployment
Frameworks and pilots for introducing systems into real workplaces.
Evaluation
Each phase has explicit benchmarks; progress is measured against them, not against demos.
Publication
Findings that advance the field are documented and shared where appropriate.
